Emilio Tobias

Emilio Tobias is a young Stand-Up Comedian who grew up in Eldorado Park and Soweto in the South of Johannesburg. Tobias started his comedy career in 2015 with his best friend, Tsitsi Chiumya, and has made big strides in a short space of time. Emilio's comedy brings a whole new perspective based on his upbringing. Growing up in black area while going to school in a coloured neighborhood.

Most recently Emilio won the opportunity to tour with SA's biggest comedy acts ( Neil Green, Robby Collins, Schalk Bezuidenhout, Loyiso Madinga and Mpho Popps). The #TrendingComics tour is a spin off of the Johannesburg International Comedy Festival and was sponsored by Tall Horse Wines. The young man was also been labelled to be part of the 'Next Comedy Generation', even taking part in the 2nd annual Goliath Comedy Experience at the Goliath Comedy Club.

Emilio has played at various venues in almost every major city in South Africa namely, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Bloemfontein, East London, Pretoria. In 2017 he debuted his 2-man Comedy Special to a sold out crowd at the Joburg Theatre in Braamfontein. The Show has since been put up in Durban and more cities are to follow. Emilio made his Television debut on the 2nd season of Mzansi Comedy Nights on DSTV's Mzansi Magic.
