Aafrind

Bringing a piece of Bollywood to the heart of South Africa, the electrifying AAFRIND is an Indian–African-European fusion band consisting of popular and acclaimed South African musicians.

Their fusion of Indian, African and Euro Music results in a unique musical experience which appeals to a wide audience, and resulting in Aafrind being one of the most popular act on the South African Bollywood and Eastern event calender.

The band is lead by the young and versatile South African singer Maithili, who has been performing since the age of three, and sings in 7 Indian Languages, 3 European languages and 4 African languages.  In 2016, she was crowned as Zee TV Africas Golden Girl of SA RE GA MA PA, and she represented Africa in SA RE GA MA PA 2016 Finals.  Maithili trained in Western Vocal from ABRSM (UK), as well as Western Classical Piano from Trinity (UK).  She is currently learning Hindustani Classical Music from Pandit Ajoy Chakravorty

Maithili has been performing concept based Musical shows like Sufiyana, Confluence – The Musical,  Dhun – Folk based, Goonj, Ragas in Bollywood etc.
