Jackal and the Wind

Jackal and the Wind is an independent band from Stellenbosch, South Africa. The band has been gaining steady acclaim since its inception in 2013. Their signature track, 'The Ukulele Song’ put them on the map when it gained a cult following among the student demographic with 350 000+ impressions on SoundCloud and top honours on the Digital Forest Live Sessions in the same year.

The band have been touring South Africa regularly, and have been featured on some of South Africa's most acclaimed festival line-ups.

EP Release

Jackal & the Wind have been unapologetically raw in their latest release. This release features songs written with a sense of emotional finesse whilst still keeping true to their organic flavour and invested musical progression. The EP introduces a progressive side of Jackal & the Wind that has yet to be released, not merely a collection of songs, but an insight into the new spirit of the band. The EP contains five brand new tracks, as well as one additional live recording performed at acclaimed Digital Forest Studios in Constantia. 

The recording environment provided by Digital Forest allowed the band to create and develop sounds unique to this environment. This freedom and new creative energy shines through this recording in cheeky chords and emotion-straddled cadence.
