Juliet Newell

Juliet Newell is an accomplished news anchor, having anchored Morning Edition on eTV, Business news on BDTV (Summit TV) as well as the African Report on SKY News.

Her television experience spans 26 years, having begin her career as a television presenter for SABC's educational series Maths No Problem. She continued through the years as a presenter and actress, with roles in numerous shows including Egoli, Generations, Indaba (French TV) and heaps more.

Juliet became the design darling of television when she presented, produced and directed a number of interior design and decor shows for The Home Channel (DStv 185) and was also the face and voice of the channel for 8 years.

Juliet's love of news took her back into current affairs when she left the home channel to join CNBC Africa to produce documentaries on economic and current affairs for a numebr of African countries including Kenya, Nigeria and Rwanda.

She has since taken her rightful place as Senior News Anchor for DStv 405 where she anchors Express Lunch weekdays from 12 to 3pm.  Her softly-softly approach to hard news interviews has won her much respect amongst her peers and colleagues, as well as her guests on the shows.  However her dedication to getting to the root of the issue is uncompromised.
