The Bootleggers

The Bootleggers Blues Band consists of six semi-professional musicians with decades of recording and performing experience between them.

This Cape Town based band has been playing clubs, festivals and music venues around the Cape Town music scene for a number of years. The band currently features Lead vocalist and harp player Terry Porter and the fabulous Miss Marguerita Freeks with years of entertainment experience, a huge voice and a scintillating stage personality. This duo make a performance by the Bootleggers a memorable experience.

The band’s stellar line-up also includes guitarist/vocalist Hallam Lewis, guitarist Ralph Buddle, Dieter Stutz on bass, drummer Brian Mansell and keyboard player Trevor Perrins.

The Bootleggers exhibit levels of professionalism and musicianship that makes it easy to become a dedicated fan. The band is well versed on what it takes to please a crowd and are equally at home playing concerts, festivals, music venues, functions and private parties. The Bootleggers Blues Band takes the traditional influences of blues and creates a rocking up beat sound that respects the tradition of the blues whilst providing the audience with an entertaining and danceable mix of blues classics along with a variety of songs that showcase the talents of all of the band members.

The Bootleggers are equally comfortable playing large corporate events, festivals, weddings and at discerning venues in and around the Cape Town area.

The band occasionally receive radio airplay on Smile Radio and have taken part in a documentary filmed in SA for an Israeli TV show
